i don't think anyone is doubting the performance of the R32, but for $ to $ you can build a 1.8t to beat a R32 for under 2g's. R32 will then have to buy a nice shot of nitrous or FI to beat the 1.8t.
How much does nitrous go fo these days??? Not over 2g's
