    Default Supercharging the Spec Vizzle!

So since I got extended for another six months and Im gonna be getting another $1,000 on top of my other already great pay for being over here for more than a year, Im gonna pay off the specV and put a supercharger on it. The kit Im lookin at will give the Spec Vizzle 250whp from the kit alone and with a little internal work and some spray Im hoping to get to the 350whp mark . Sounds like a reasonable request to me.

By internal work, you mean a complete rebuild with forged internals, right? Cause you'll need it to handle that much power. Sounds like it'll be a badass car though.

Why not just do the VQ35 swap though? It's way simpler than super/nitrous/rebuild, and you'll be running 12s on slicks...on a completely reliable daily drivable car. Plus, the VQ swap will only cost as much as the supercharger kit by itself. You'll end up spending WAY more doing the rebuild.

The car wont be a daily driver so reliability isnt really an issue, I just want to see what I can do with the QR25 too. Ive read up on the swap and the supercharger on B15sentra and I just think Ill have alot more fun going the supercharger route.

If I was gonna drop that much $$$ on a QR25, and I wasn't concerned about reliability...I'd go all our and turbo it. More potential, and the exponential feeling of acceleration you get from a turbo pwns all, IMO.

From what I hear, when you do the VQ swap it fills the entire engine bay so there is no room for upgrades like forced induction, thats why I dont wanna do it. Do you have any links for any sites that I can research this. Ill do it, Ill do the VQ swap, Ill begin ordering the parts tonight.

Well which is it, VQ or S/C? If I had my choice I'd S/C the motor. W/ the VQ the A/C isn't going to work like it's suppost to, the solution is to switch the compressor with a timmer, totally ignoring the pressures for switching, that's only a matter of time. You'll get a check engine light because the cruise control won't work, that's a no go if you ever need emissions. I don't know it's your call.

My cruise control is out and I have no light. And the AC is perfectly fine in a VQ swap I drove. Dont know where you got your info.

Go to the www.TheVboard.com and there is a section's called SWAP'S and you will find all the info about the swap. You can also ask the ppl on that web. what's the best to do on your ride, they might help you out...

Go w/ the SC. The gears are WAY too short for turboing the car IMO which has been proven time and time again. (Baby J)

turbo never was an option, atleast not till after the swap but then it will be a boosted VQ and not the QR

Yeah but you better have a great understanding for the car and Travis' phone number if you are going to do this swap by yourself. Plus with a simple battery relocation there is planty of room for a turbo kit with the VQ35 cause this guy is doing it

Kind of blows your mind doesn't it?

I would not say PLENTY of room, but there is room. Turbonetics is marketing their kit pretty heavily right now (turbo)... 300 crank HP is not bad.
