I assume u are talkin about 1ZZ, it not worth to do it.... Get 2ZZ which is GTS engine. it should not be too diffcult to do the swap. U may find more information by ask monkeywrench, hope this may help u.

no, you cant turn it into a bigger engine..

i mean, you could bore it out and blah blah... you'd end up spending a few grand, why not swap it..

popular swap for the 1.6 is the 4agez. go to www.toyotacelicas.com search on the forum, got alot of info on swaps and such.

    Thumbs up

yep, I can tell you're not familiar w/ toyotas... you can only make a 4.6 to a 5.0 with a chip if it is a domestic, the only way you're gonna make that celica engine bigger is if you bolt on a cylinder kit, but those don't come cheap.

um hate to bust the bubble but 4.6=281 ci and 5.0=302ci...a chip wont give you 21 ci of displacement....

Don't listen to that noob. You can't bolt a cylinder kit on, gotta take it to a shop and weld it on son. I know a special shop in the area...let me know if you're interested.

no it wont bolt up, you'll have to re position some mounts. plus rewire everything... after all of that..you're looking at a 30 hp boost. if youy're going through all the trouble with that, you might as well throw the all trac engine in there (the 3sgte) plus its turbo, and stock it pushes 200hp.

or like i said, do the corolla swap (4agze), it drops right in. all ya gotta do is wire it up.

wtf, you're a noob. I've bolted on numerous cylinders to countless cars, there's no need to weld cylinders on, it's totally overkill and will be expensive. don't listen to this fool.

Don't be hating because nobody buy your JDM license plate homeslice. How many of those "numerous cylinders" you bolted on still last? Those welded cylinders can withstand a constant 40psi all day. There's no such thing as overkill when you could have peace of mind. You don't want your manifold to go kaaboom and comes off like in Fast and Furious. You got to pay to play son!

wtf, who do you think you're messing wit, I've been street racing since I was 15, 85, 285, I20, barrett, shit I've been on all of them. And I'm telling you, I fucking bolted an extra cylinder to a sr20det last weekend, it revved like a muthafucking VTEC engine, you gotta know what you're doing to bolt on an extra cylinder, if you don't of course it won't last.

I don't want to call you out but you asked for it. Those are child plays. If you want the real shit, 400 is where the big dogs hang. Just cuz your mom let you borrow her minivan for the weekend doesn't mean it's the shiznit. VTEC is nothing next to VVT-LI so take that weak Honda crap to honda-tech and be with your brothers. I welded my KA from a 2.0 to a 2.4 monster and throw down 300whp all day long. You can't talk shit when you didn't go to Tokyo Drift opening night fool!

STFU yudalicious, i know who you are...you tried to run me on 85 and BOOM! Some shit flew out from your car and you startin smokin like a fuckin rasta convention...I pulled over and picked up what flew out. Guess what?!?!? You DIDNT BOLT ON THE EXTRA CYLINDER RIGHT BIATCH!!!! Now it sits on my desk as a reminder of how stupid some ricers are. I TIG welded my last cylinder add-on using a titanium rod and a Lincoln 1230 mW welder, and I'm running about 45-50 psi now no problem (not exactly sure how high b/c my autometer boost gauge only goes to 45 and its MAXXED out). Bolt on cylinders? I think my mountain bike is faster than that rig

Ok, all of you seriously need to chill out. None of you know what you're talking about.

Red Top Mountain is where all the best racers hang out, and there's tons of mountain drifting, road racing, and more action there. I take my AE86 out there with my 3S-GTE swap and I converted my AE86 to the Celica All-Trac setup. I'm boosting 30 psi safely on stock internals and I beat on it all day long. I don't have a FMIC either, it's just the stock intercooler and stock internals.

I don't have a digi cam, but I will bring it up to Barrett Pkwy if you want me to.

If you're interested in doing any sort of swaps involving drivetrain, let me know man. I know exactly where to get the parts at and how to do it as well.

Yea, your car is pretty fast, I think we were going like, 170, 180 mph on 85 through the curves in the rain. That extra cylinder fell out because the cylinder damper wasn't on right and wasn't dampening.
