    For me it is a fuel vsv, which acts to maintain proper fuel pressure during starting and idle.


    hmm if that is the case it sounds like that could be the cause of both the problems or something

    eh, the vsv would be likely to cause a low lumpy idle. I've had mine bypassed for over a year now and it makes no real difference in the cars operation while it's running aside from the rpm dropping real low and climbing back up when you stop at a light.

    I tell this to everybody... if you don't know... bring it to a friend or mechanic that does. Most mechanics will give you a free estimate as far as what the problem is. The local shops used to hate me because I always took the free checkups and fixed the car on my own.

    Diagnostic tools are a godsend.
