    Default 92 prelude exhaust help

i was wondering if any one knew why my exhaust sounds like its leaking out underneath the car, and why a stock exhaust sounds so deep when its idleing, it also buzzes a little bit past 5000rpm

the muffler was replaced by the people who owned it before me,but it is an OEM muffler so it shouldnt change the sound.also it was in Bartow so the cat may be messed up (i havent done emissions yet)
any help or advice would be great.

Bring it to mineke or some sort of other exhaust specialist. You probably developed a leak somewhere along the lines.

As it doesnt seem like you have any idea what you are talking about... bring the f'n car to somebody to see whats going on before you do anything else.

If the system is significantly damaged i'd Go with something 2.5 inches. See what the local shop is charging to make a full exhaust system.

wasting ur money imo. go to www.ebay.com buy a muffler of ur choice..approx (15-50$) ie: apexi n1 style. then go to a muffler shop and tell them u want a catback exaust 2.5 inches, and to have this tip welded on.

they should do it like 100-135, thne maybe 45, or less to be welded on.

and tadah.. u have saved 300$ then u go buy a header, also on ebay. then ull still have 200$ take that 200 and keep it for when your idle air control valve goes bad. it will go bad.

    hope i helped.

Because if you knew what you were talking about you could have easily identified the source of the "exhaust leak" considering how bad you make it sound. Then you come up here asking which exhaust you should buy when you don't even know whether or not the problem actually lies in that area.

So say you go spend the 500 bucks on a new exhaust setup just to find out that you cracked your manifold... more money... more time without a car.

Just follow my advice... go to a shop and have them check it out. They will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is as opposed to a bunch of a-holes throwing best guesses at you on a forum...

Then... make your plan of action once you have more information.
