stock what?
2006 R1 with stuff on it
what ever stock shocks or spring he has on his car ..
would it matter if he uses his stock shock or spring if he gets his car lowered ??
or would it be better to get some after market items then lower his car ..

you can use them lowering it will probally blow his stock struts quick though
"I remember the first time I had sex – I kept the receipt."
haha ricers world wide slam their cars out and still use stock struts... they wont wear out quick, they will just wear out faster than normal... you might get 50k miles out of them instead of 60k.... that is unless you are being super ricetastic and cut 3 or 4 coils out of your springs and drop it 6"... then no matter what kind of struts you get, they are not going to last as long.Originally Posted by Wurm

i wouldnt wanna do it myself and mess up ..

you dont need a spring compressor if your putting on lowering springs, ive done 3 cars without it.

it depends on the car and the suspension it uses like if it has mcpherson struts and allOriginally Posted by cherry kool aid
whats a good lowering kit ??

by lowering kit do you mean springs, coilovers, or full coilovers... also are you planning to do it right and use a camber adj. system? I recommend Eibach pro kit if you want to drop it less than 1.5-1.7", Neuspeed race springs for 2.0-2.5" and cleap ebay springs if you want it so low that the front end will scoop shit up off of the ground. If you want cheap sleeve coilovers, dont waste your time... every time you raise or lower the car, you need to get it alligned. IF you want true coilovers, I recommend Tein Basic's or Tokico Illumina Coilovers, both of which replace the spring and strut, so you knock out two birds with one stone, and they are easier to install. no spring compressor needed since you take the stock spring/strut out while it is still together, and put the new coilovers back it place.Originally Posted by nolimitsteveo
