Engine swap question?

I am wanting to do an engine swap on my 1999 ek hatch. a friend of mine has just totaled his eg(suv crushed the rear end) and he wants to sell me his engine, its a b18b obd1. he has the engine, tranny, ecu, , mounts off the eg, and the wiring harnes . is there anything else i need?

never mind . i changed my mind. i'm gonna wait a lil while and do a obd2 gsr swap.

i would stick witht he LS and keep it obd1 IF* he gives u a good price then all u have to do if go Ls-VTEC. get a b16 head slap it on an ur good to go

you'll have to convert the engine to obd2 for your chassis, but you can still convert and use the obd1 ecu for tuning/daily.

get the obd2 crank pos sens and obd2 dist if i remember correctly. then get an obd2b-1 conversion harness and you can use the obd1 ecu. if you socket/chip it, it can be tuned for max power.

WHy do all that .? ig he has the complete hareness its plug and play . you would just make him do more work for nothing
