I've done a lot of research over the years on RX7's (all years), 13B's (all types) , and LS1's (and LT1s). My father was mechanic and built a lot of race cars (both street and track) over the years, so it was natural for me to stay with the V8s. I like V8s a lot, but for the cost, I'll stick with the 13B-REW in a FD. For the cost of converting to a LS1, I could convert to a 20B and make even more power.

Another thing to consider. Most of the 350 swaps don't run better than 12's - 13's. Plan on changing gearing, mounts, etc, if you go the LS1 route.

Personally, the only LS1 swap (other than the TT LS1) that I really like is in the 2nd gen convertible. At 3140 lbs., the vert really benefits from the additional low-end torque to get it moving. Otherwise, you can make more power with the same cost with the 13B.

Of course, if I had a Corvette, I would stay with the LS1. Conversions are never cheap. There is always additional unplanned cost.

BTW - the pic that I posted is r71's car. He doesn't post much on here. The FD that it is going in is not stock - but it is a street car.
