Default Mazdaspeed Miata ECU Tuning Help

I'm looking to purchase the Flyin' Miata - Hydra Nemesis ECU Upgrage for my MSM and was looking for a good reputable shop that could effectively do the tuning without blowing my car up. I've heard good things about Mainstream Performance but was wondering who you guys would trust. This is a full ECU replacement that comes with a basemap. It comes with a built in boost controller, eliminates the MAF, and would more than likely require some A/F Ratio tuning on a dyno-tune. Also looking to upgrade to 550cc injectors at the same time. If I could do this stuff myself then I would, but at this point in time, my tuning abilities are limited to what I can do with wrenches.

    Thanks guys.

I know they have done several boosted Miatas. One made around 300whp. I know they have experience with the platform, but with the hydra standalone I do not know. PM Vteckidd or call Mainstream and talk to him. He'll be able to let you know. Does it come with software to tune by? Or does it have to be an authorized hydra/fm place?

I'll have to double check but I think it comes with tuning software. I've heard that Mainstream has a good reputation but I wanted to see if there were other places that I should consider before making a decision.

As for the atlanta area Mainstream is the best in my opinion for computer tuning. I don't know either if they have any experience with the Hydra. As soon as FM starts selling the FMII Hydra kits again I'll be getting one for my car and doing the tuning here. Mine will be on a built motor but yours could easily run 260whp tuned right without really stressing the motor.

If I could squeeze out 250 to the ground with a smooth powerband then I'd be more than happy. Good luck with the FMII kit. Those things are monsters.

Have you had a chance to talk to Vteckidd yet to find out about tuning? Sometimes it's hard to get ahold of anyone, just checking to see.

Been busy with other stuff lately and I don't have the ECU kit yet. Once I'm finally set to order, I'll be getting in touch with some shops.

We have done a ton of Miata's with the Link system, what FM uses on the older cars. I will find out about the new system. One of our customers is the nefew of Bill at FM so I will contact him for more details. Just give us a call when you get ready. Later.
