i say locking one's. i've had mine for years and installed a set on an i.l. members car too. i don't know what btec talks about spinning unless maybe people are installing or tightening them properly. you do need to bend the pins forward so they match the contour of the hood and meet perpendicular to the actual hood for the proper latching.
you'll need:
masking tape to keep the glass from cracking.
grease for the top of the pin to mark the hood on where to drill from the underside.
large drill bit.
dremel w/ sanding drum to enlarge the hole.
deep well socket or some good needle nose pliers to tighten the nut to hold the cylinders to the hood.
patience.
a shop will charge you quite a bit to do it.
oh yeah, mine are good to 130mph so far.
