    Default Track Day

    WoooooooooooooHoooooooooooooo

I would like to Thank those people (Miranda-Tracy)who let me drive their cars at the open track day at Little Talledega.

I was privelaged enough to drive one very fast STI at the track, it was an absolute blast. Miranda has one extremly fast car, even on street tires. Sorry about that little spin going into turn 3, as it turns out you can not take that turn in 4th gear even if you do trail brake into it. I wish we had gotten to break out the Race tires but it was not meant to be.

The EVO was sick fast, so fast that it needs new tires. The car was crazy loose on the street tires. Hopefully Tracy will still let me drive it after she gets the race tires.

Hopefully Ill have my new track car by the next track day, I have narrowed it down to a few cars. Ill post that in another thread.

Darlin... that suspension just can't handle trail braking the way you were trying to do it!

In all seriousness, though, the track day was absolutely awesome! Thanks so much for coming out with us and helping us show them Jarco boys what all wheel drive can do! I will be posting up some stuff as soon as Tracy posts those pics you took.

(BTW - how come every pic is with the Evo in front? You know that only happened once or twice!)

Sorry Trey. It was a last minute thing that I was even allowed to bring my car. We were under the impression that we'd have to drive JUST Tracy's car.

I have to tell you, though, the STi is freakin' amazing on track. Now, the suspension really isn't ideal for it, but it was still awesome. We drove clockwise, and the car was pulling 72 second laps even without any engine mods (beyond my tbe and headers). I was really quite happy with the results! I can't wait to get it back to Roebling to see how the car handles that track. And.... I may just have some EM by then (and a little extra boost just for the track event)!

    You gonna come to Roebling?

I think that will be the next place I go. I think that's where the majority of my effort is going to shift from here on out. I have a pretty interesting line on a T1 Corvette in the works, so I need to spend the next year or so getting to a point where I can go stir up some shit!

    Default hell yeah

Yeah the subby was nuts, I think that suspension would be fine you would just have to dial it in for the road course.

I cant decide what I want to get as a track car I have it narrowed down to a few.

    05 STI
    05 EVO Mr
    C6 corvette
    C5 corvette
    1996 Viper GTS
    1998 2.5RS (race car)
    Lotus Elise
    Early Turbo Porsche

I have even thought about going nuts and buying an older World Challenge Car.

In all honesty, I'd go nuts over the C6 Z06. I just don't know how I'd feel about rear wheel drive. You, I'm sure, would have no problems given your Stang experience.

    I'm just a complete n00b to rwd.

    Default no mistakes

Rwd is great, just not as friendly to mistakes as awd.

The only experience I have driving a rwd car was a short couple drives in a turbo'd Miata. That thing was stupid fast to the point of being close to undriveable. It was fun, but you could hardly ever keep the assend from flying out on you.
