Default crossed wires on battery,no more power.

i was not paying attention when i was putting my battery back in and put the neg on the pos and pos on the neg for 1 second and heard a pop under the fuse box in the engine bay.i found the main 60 amp fuse was blown, each time i put a new one in it blows.it wont blow them if i disconnect the wire going from the box under the hood to the the inside of the car.any ideas as to what the hell has happened and how should i go about finding the problem??im not getting any power inside the car at all,and the battery is fine. HELP
