nah maintenance required is just a light for scheduled things that is preset...turn your key off hold the odometer button in click the key to 1 position (still holding it in) click the key to 2 position( still holding it it) and then start, but give it like 5-10 sec each click and it will go away

Yeah my maintenance required only comes on for regular maintenace issues.. ie oil change, timing belt... If its engine realted or something broke, my check engine light comes on..

If you look in your manual for you car it will tell you what regularly scheduled maintenance is due at about 170k, that would at least tell you whats triggering it, but you might already know that, lol

Yup^ thats how it works...the maintance required light means its time for oil change etc....by how many miles....when your check engine light comes on, then you need to get something fixed.

Yeah mine comes on like every 5-6000 miles to remind me to get my oil changed... and I laugh cause its always about 2500 miles after I have gotten it changed and I am like its a little late aint it, lol

Its just a mile counter. Once you reset it, it will come back around 7000 miles.
