What would a good project car be. Im 15 dont have ALOT of money and am looking for something that I can build on. I was thinking something like an evo or, S2000, or miata. What do u guys think preferably a 4 cyl. thats rwd, or awd.

Ya Ive been fluttering between alot of different idea's lately and really didnt want a fwd. One of my friends Sean had an old hatch awhile ago and it wasnt too bad. Soo def. still thinking about it......Any other suggestions
the real question is how much do u have to spend on the car and in mods?

Anywhere in the $0-$5000 area. Im not looking to buy right now just getting a good idea of what I am wanting. Im going to have around 5k by about June and am trying to make the money as "spread out" as possible, on a car and then some upgrades.

Working with a 5.slow would honestly make a really fast project car, they respond really well to bolt-ons. Otherwise if you plan on learning alot, DSM's (Eclipses/Talons) can be made very fast and bought for not much money.
Put that 5k into that mustang..

With the miata and 2000 I was basically looking at trying to get a very light car then adding what I could with the rest of the money,get some breathing upgrades and then do a swap once I saved up a bit. The Evo I was looking for a small AWD car that has alot of "Get Up and Go" in it. The mustang idea was also something I considered, and the Eclipse and Talon really caught my attention too...........Im just not too sure yet, really something that in the long run will be pushing low 12, high 11's..........Thanks for the sug. anymore???
How much is your Rustang worth? You keep talking about Evo's and S2000's and now "12s and 11's" What is your budget?
You are 15, dont get this fucking high hp cars right off the back. Unless u are asking for a short life, i dont want to hear about another kid hitting a tree. Get a slow ass civic ex and drive it for a year or two so you can get some experience driving, and when you are ready do a swap or turbo that bitch. I wanted to do the samething as you when i was 15 and if i did go that route of buying a fast car as my first car I would be dead right now
I just dont get why parents would buy or allow thier kids to have high hp cars as thier first car

I meant with ALOT of work and even more time for money lol...didnt mean to make it sound like "OoO well lets just buy a S2000 put a couple grand in it and KABOOM 12 second car".......And above it was a typo, it is 3.8 with painted fiberglass scoop.....
Civics are easy to mod and parts are plentiful (fairly inexpensive in most cases). I love trucks so I would also recommend an S10 as they easy to mod also.
Actually been looking at some rex's and older civic/hatch's.....just really dont know yet....Prolly just gonna end up keepin the stang for awhile, just throw a little bit of money into it till im a bit older and then get something alot faster....

this is wat u do......sell ur stand, buy a 240 (u want RWD) ,bring all of that left over money with the 240 over to one of those mechanic/performance shop, tell them u want a builted SR or RB or watever, and ta da!!!.....if u want 11s seconds....then after u have that done, strip ur car lose some weight, buy some slicks, get roll cage, and all of that shit...and u hit 11s...<<<<but i doubt it

get a hatch 92 and up thats the best for a start..

what u got planned? i know ther is plenty of aftermarket for that 3.8.
Save your money, invest, get a well paying job after college and in the end buy a Porsche or another hi end car. Your first car will be a money pit, and in the end youll probably regret it.

My Girl got a Datsun 510 Dirt Cheap we are swapping a KA24DE into its which also was very cheap and doing most all the work ourselfs (4cyc RWD) like you said plus Datsun 510's are straight Pimp anyway
U know I was actually I need new brakes mine are a bit spoongy but after gonna start with the basics, intake,heads, exhaust to help it breath a bit. Then Suspension, rims,tires, cams, pully's, injectors.....not exactly in that order but thats the plan basically for the next couple of months.
