    Default check engine light

    well i got a check engine did the test and this is the code i have:90 Evaporative Emission Control System leak detected in the fuel tank area. what module is this, i don't see any other module in the area; could it be the fuel pump going bad?

    It should be the charcoal canister that absorbs the gasoline fumes when they heat up and expand when the car is off and just sits there. It's stored in there until the car is running and then they get recirculated and burned off. This keeps the gas from leaking out into the air. It should somewhere in that system...either a line or valve or a crack in the cannister, etc. Just my i may be wrong. good luck

    Get a new gas cap,clear the code and drive it. I bet it stays off

    could possibly be either try the seond first before going into drastic measures and spending alot of money that doesn't need to spent.
    You know better; next time will be a ban.
