i have recently obtained a old 87 bmw 325i im looking to turbo it and i have heard of the same model being after market turbo but i heard it was a bit risky. if anybody could help with any tips or comment id greatly apreciate it.

You can do it for cheap. Most make an adapter from the stock headers to a top mount single flange. For fuel you can use ford thunderbird SC injectors and some pressure regulating FMU. This should get you to about 10 psi tops, and you should have over 200whp which is quick in an E30. Other details are pretty basic, and common to all turbo applications.

i knew a guy that put a redtop in his. now that thing was quick. but to go with the turbo thunderbird idea, buy the whole car (probably for less than $500) and you'll have 90% of the bits.
