    Question Lighting problems....1993 civic.

sio yeah i have this really small problem which im sure anyone could solve but i am helpless as to how to solve this..i have tried just about everything....so when i turn on my headlights, my tailight goes out...sometimes it will turn on, but then it will go out again..a fuse keeps blowing...i have a breaker in the fuse to keep it from blowing so i keep resetting it instead of changing fuses after fuses....and i have tried to locate the problem for the talight blowing out. the brake light works fine in the daytime and all but the problem arises when i turn on the headlight....any ideas?

...so it blows when you touch the brakes but only when the taillights are on?

Most electrical problems trace back to a faulty ground...it's check there.

i think a couple of the wires that plug into the back of the bulbs may go to a screw or two somewhere in the chassis...i'd have to see a manual to know for sure though...sometimes the screw needs to be removed, lightly sand the area and the screw, wipe on some dielectric compound, and screw back in...it's a pain if you don't have the interior out though.

well i had put a breaker in the fuse, the one that kept blowing so i kept pulling out the bulbs one by one in the tailights, and all the tailights were fine..and i noticed that one light was missing, and that was the corner light and i saw that the bulb wasn't in there and the wires were torn up and it was bare wires, so it was hitting each other, causing a short. problem solved..i just taped it up. word. bump
