    Hey was good yo i was wondering if anyone of you guys know how much boost a stock 99 gst turbo puts out i am new to the turbo seen and i am wanting to start of safe plus its going on a neon so i have a big job cut out in front of me any criticizm would be appreciated even the negative

    hhmmm, how much the turbo puts out.....100000+psi. You can boost ANY turbo to ANY psi however at somepoint a turbo will run out of efficiency range and you'll just be blowing hot air into your engine. The stock 2g dsm turbo is a garrett t25, aka the t2small. If I were you I'd get a different turbo, if you looking for a stock (read junkyard) turbo, then try a 14b (1g dsm) or a t3 (old turbo mustang/tbird turbo coupe/cougar xr-7). I'm sure there are some other good choices from factory turbo'd cars out there as well.

    50 trim at 20psi would make your car haul ass. I would get that. You don't have to build the motor or anything with those too.

    AND....you can run 87 octane!

    thanx but for the record i got the turbo and side mount intercooler for 50 dollars had it checked out yesterday and its a good turbo and as i said its going in a neon plus im new to this so thanx for the info

    thanx ill look into that im going to turbo dave today and see about piping being made and so on and so forth plus after i get the turbo in the car ill see about upgrading it just want to start out small for now

    You're a fucking idiot. Stay out of the performance world when your mind is 100% based on rice. It'd be one thing if you even knew a fucking thing about turbos or even boost... but its another to go buy a junky turbo for cheap and expect to put it on your car and hear the super-cool BOV sounds without knowing a damn thing about how it works.

    You asked for criticizm... and I gave it. I'm sorry if it made a few tears roll down... or if your ricer hatred was unleashed because you had a few feelings hurt. =[



    But in ALL DUE SERIOUS... since you made a SERIOUS thread, I'll give you a SERIOUS response and put aside all my dislike for you.



    Here's my advice... goto TurboDave or any local performance shop that can fabricate stuff... ask them to make you a turbo kit using a T-88 or a GT42R turbo. The GT42R may be a little more expensive, but it'll give you a faster spool for your Neon and give you some comfortable power to play with. Your stock block is made out of rock-forged iron-alloy so it can handle boost really well. Since your head was setup for natural aspiration, its made to breathe a LOT better than any turbo head so keep it stock too. Also, your injectors can be kept stock or you can port them yourself using a small needle and poking a few extra holes on the inside of the injectors.

    1439/2000 is right, you can run some good boost on 87 octane because your car was manufactured for that specific type of gas. However, if you upgrade to 93 octane, you could push even more boost and make crazy power.

    Let me know if you end up getting the GT42R setup, I'd love to see your car run an easy 11sec 1/4mi with some drag radials in the rear.

    Actually, here in america (and on IA) we use something called spaces. I have denoted the missing "spaces" with underscores.
