The DOHC 1.6L in the GTS J-spec has around 127hp
The DOHC 1.6L GTS A-spec has around 112hp

Don't get an SR5. That's the 1.5L SOHC hachi. A swap I've seen done a couple times was to take the Toyota 4AGZE (1.6L S/C'ed from the AW11 MR2) which should be fun.

Good luck finding one that's in decent running order/shape for a reasonable price.

NO, 4A-GE 20 valve......its about the same as the 4A-GZE but it has more potential for turbo, cams....etc

Actually if you plan on going N/A the 20 Valve is your best option. However if plan on boostin..... the 4aGZE from the late model JDM AE92 would have stonger internal.

Now if you you wanted to go through the work to have the best of both worlds then you can get a JDM 20valve and swap the internals then boost it to make an actual beast.

well if u have enough money u should stick with the 4age 16v and use the toda competition kit...i like the blue top more then all the other motors..the potential is higher..but at an expensive cost...

the 4agze form the AE92 is a good motor for boost...but if u want a 20v go with the AE101 or AE111 black top

You forgot to mention the 20v has ITBs stock, which is amazing.

but due to the fact that it's sourced from a FWD car it requires a bit of fabrication to swap. The GZE is commonly put into AE86s, and more recently people are starting to put SR20s into the car.

I've seen recent pics of people swapping in KA's into hachis after swapping in a (enter Nissan motor here) into their 240. Seems interesting.
