    Default What Are My Chances?

Well this past weekend my brand new water pump failed. The pulley some how walked itself off. As soon as we heard it go flying we killed the car. The cam gear still looked in time. Towed it home and replaced the water pump and installed the timing belt. Turned the engine over by hand, didnt hear anything touching. Tried to start and I have no compression.

    most likely bent valves right?

what are my chances the pistions are damaged also?

I know that this is kinda a ball park question and really wont know until I pulled the head.

cant be bent valve because the head is run by timing belt. water pump run by fan belt. without the fan belt, the car will just over heat. correct me if im wrong

yea the valves will bend before the piston cracks most of the time. UNLESS a valve broke then your in a world of shit lol

it was hard every round? if so you might have a slight problem. but if it was just "compression" hard then you might have just got a couple valves

Don't help out if you don't know then.

I am guessing your valves bent. I bet the pulley came off and kicked the t-belt and made it jump a few teeth and bent the valves. Just pull the head off and get it "worked"

most likely it bent the valves. What you need to do is pull the spark plugs out, if they arent chewed up then you didnt drop a valve which means most likely the valves are just bent.

pull the head and check the bottom. Also if you didnt mess the head and or pistons up then just replace the valves and you should be good to go.
