    Thumbs down I feel like ive lost VTEC power. What could cause this??

    I have a high mileage gsr headers intake and full exhaust. recentlly ive noticed my VTEC just isnt kickin as hard as it used to. this has been goin on about a week now. no CEL is on?? just needin help on this so i can get her back right..

    Have you done any recent maintenance lately? Check your Vtec solenoid.

    Not really man. nothin i believe that has to do with vtec. Ive had this car for about 9 months and have not sure how to go about doin that please explain. if it helps it looks old.

    when was your last oil change? or when was the last time you checked your oil level?

    There should be filters inside the solenoid. One is under the solenoid and the other is between the vtec assembly and head. Loosen the three bolts and clean the filter with a solvent.

    im around 1100 on my new oil. oil level is fine. What kind solution you suggest i use?? and how i go about cleanin?? so pretty much after i undo those 3 bolts it'll come out???

    Maybe it self tuned and now vtec comes in at a proper rpm.

    could be a number of things but i would check oil and maybe do a tune up on it and also clean the vtec soleniod

    if you have never changed the vtec solenoid gasket then you need to do this. its most likely clogged. there is a screen that is attached to the gasket and catches most the trash

    look at 10 and 12. this is the gasket and screen.

    its not the timin its common in or torque fall off that changes. just the hardness of the kick. ima jump on the tonight with my crew to get it cleaned.. if im still haven the problem now i know where to look. Thanks every1!!!

    checked the gasket first. if its clogged its not going to allow good flow of oil to the solenoid

    and say the gaskets good. just clean my filters after that??
