    Default To Block guard or not?

    I'm rebuilding my LS/Vtec motor. I'm gonna boost it. Right now the head is off and changing out all the bearings and seals. My question is to keep the STR block guard in or remove it? Is there any benefit in having one or not? Should i worry about it overheating? This project is going to be a daily driver if that helps any.
