    Default Barefoot or tech 5 get in here!

    Ok here is the car a 1998 ford escort 2.0 automatic. It has me scratching my head It has a "miss" at idle and in low rpms. And does idle rough. But it drives fine. It has no check engine lights or pending codes and the readyness is up. I have replaced the sparkplugs and wires. as well as the coil pack from another car with no change. I have been driveing hopeing it throws a code so i know where to start looking. Any ideas guys?

    hmm the reason i said Vacuum cause i put a few busted ass ones in a swapped escort i did. i changed MAP, injectors, plugs, wires, coils packs. u name it i changed it. it ended up been a vacuum line. i miss the xcort .. if i think of something else I did to mine ill post up if no one has helped u out all ready

    sounds like a vacuum issue.

    What does the misfire data show at idle? I would install a vacuum gauge, and see how it acts. You may have a valve that is not sealing.

    Sounds like you have a burnt valve or it's not seating properly. Do a compression check FOOL!

    yea a valve will do that, the hatch i used to have did that and still ran very rough at idle and was driven home, any noise while driving at all or just at idle?
