    just got a brand new coil from oreilys (sp). all i get are pops from the exhaust like its wanting to start but it wont. im getting gas and spark but no start. when you figure yours out let me know.

    Check yoru firing order. sometimes the simplist things we over look.

    yeah i was going to say this also for blown ss to check. that was one of the first thing we checked on ours

    i have the right firing order, i've looked it up many times to make sure.

    If your getting "pops" from the exhaust, its miss firing or firing at the wrong order.. well If i understand it right.

    other then that. It happen to a buddy of mine. trying to set the firing order from a SOHC to a B16. had him baffleld for about 2 hours.


    I guess if all else fails OP, Try a buddies set of wires. you might be getting a spark but not strong enough.

    i followed the book that i have for the car and googled it. i thought that could be it but i have looked it up.

    we left the distributor loose and rotated it back and forth and still nothing. i've had a engine that was off a tooth before and it still started just didnt run right.

    yeah i wasnt getting the pops and then i bought a new coil and started getting them. it seems like there is something so small that is holding me back.
