Kyb vs tokico
Thinking of upgrading my shocks. I have Megan racing coilover sleeves at the moment on stock shocks one is blown and the rest are on the way out. I want a stiffer ride and car will be dumped if that makes a diff. I was looking specifically at kyb gr2 or tokico blue
don really kno how the kybs will hold up but the tokico blues i had went out after about 5months...my car was lowered 3inchs...i hav kybs now jus my car got totaled so i don kno how it will ride.
I had KYB's on my civic a few years ago. They came with the car, the rears were blown out so I replaced them. It was a pretty stiff ride. Even on the softest setting it felt like I was in a dump truck.

Never tried KYB's but i had tokico illuminas on my RX-7 for a while and loved them.
Hmm... I'll probably go with the gr2 since they are cheaper anyways. Thanks.

Anthony is referring to the KYB AGX, GR2's are non adjustable. Neither of the two you mentioned work well on a car thats lowered much more than stock height. The kyb are cheap but wont last you long and the spring rates are too much for the kybs. Tokicos would be the better choice but not the best. Youd be better off spending a couple extra bucks on kyb AGX's
i have kybs GR-2 non-adjustable on ground controls coil overs, sleeves are all the way down in the front rides ok
if ur gonna slamm it get some top hats
GR2's arent gonna be too stiff nor will it handle great.
i had KYB GR2s on my camaro and it was lowered with eibach sportlines,never had any problems. Probably gonna do the same with my 240.

I have KYB AGX's on my car right now and I love them. Also have skunk2 adjustable coilovers, so it leaves me with alot of options. the KYB's have lastest me over 2 years now and are still holding stong. Btw, my coilovers are on the lowest setting.
i went from kyb to tokico. tokico hands down
Tokico FTW!!! I dropped my integra with tokico blues full suspension and it was a very balanced ride.
Life begins at 6000 RPMS.. You will notice an audible change in engine noise, large increase in acceleration and any female passengers will immidiately start to remove their clothing.

i've had kyb gr2 w/tein springs. and they ride great for 4yr's until it was sold ... so it's your own preference, and all my suspension bushings was replaced so iono Had no problem with the kyb gr2's

Buy KYB AGX's they are the best bang for buck no matter what. I made a similar thread to this a majority rule says the same. GR-2 are a waste as well as Tokico Blue rode on both before and was not satisfied by the handling
I ride on the kyb and there stiff its a real good ride
haha.. i was gonna ask the same question. but im looken at the Tokico HP on Tein springs in the mazda. im just looken for alittle bit of a stiffer ride. and to get rid of some fender gap.
Had Kyb AGX on my civic with skunk2 springs. Loved the ride.
