Default 94' ej1 Interior Lights work when they want....

Okay so since I bought my ej1 a year ago, my interior lights didnt work (gauge cluster & dash lights).... Not long ago, I was driving home 1 night & they started working, then went out, then started working again.... They didnt come back on after that until 4 months later & stayed on for about 3 days & went out again.... Its like there is either a loose connection or a short....

I do know that the previous owner spliced into alot of crap because I pulled about 30ft of wires out of the car from the headlights to the taillights.... Keep in mind when I pulled all of the wires after I purchased the car, the gauge cluster & dash lights never worked from the get go....

With all that being said, here's what Ive checked:
    All Fuses
All Plugs (that I was able to check)
    Dimmer Switch

If you have any suggestions or if you have had this happen to you, please help by pointing me in the right direction, it will be greatly appreciated:

Or if you can fix this problem & make it right & not catch my car on fire, I will pay you:

it's just an intermittent somewhere. you're going to have to chase all the wires used and wiggle them (no shit) and see if you can isolate a spot where it will do it.

I'd start under the dash. If he's been screwing with it I'm sure it's probably there.
