Default Getting a Civic DX, Engine question.

So a friend of mine is getting a DX coupe, 1994, 5 spd, etc, And I went to go look at it with him today, Everything looked good apart from the engine, The block was a d15, which I expected the whole thing to be, but it had a d16 head on it? I didnt know why it would be one there, and I told him we would go look at it after I knew what was up with that. Any ideas on why it might be on there? are the d16 heads universal with the d15's?

for more power and vtec (well, depending on what head.) and yes they're universal. And if it has a d16 head, thats a advantage.
I asked a girl if i could buy her a drink, she said I have a boyfriend, so I said, well i have a goldfish, she said what? I replied, oh I'm sorry I thought we were talking about shit that doesnt matter.

d series for the most part is interchangeable as is b series and so on and so forth, never heard of ls/v? B18B1 block with B18C1 head? (Just for example, there are many different heads you could use) well it might be the case here depending on exactly what D15 block and what D16 head

I know its the Stock DX d15 block, but Im not sure about what d16 head it is, So theres nothing wrong with it? Its basically just more power?

so its a D15B8 block most likely, which has no vtec and perhaps the head swap was done to add vtec to the motor, and it doesnt necessarily mean it was done for more power could have been the only head he/she had to use at the time of the rebuild or replacement of blown head or w/e happened

he said it's a 94 coupe, the d15b8 only come in CX hatches....it's 99% a d15b7...and i'm pretty sure they would put a vtec head on it...more power.

and i had a d15 with 325k miles, guy is STILL driving it lol. d series ftw

Thats what the Odometer says , We drove it, it just has an intake, and its straight piped, No knocking, misfires, no smokes, and it shifts perfect, and All for 1300$! (The only reason its so cheap, is that the guy buying it works with the dude)

well im sure the gauge cluster is showing the correct miles on the chassis but with the head being diff. you cant assume the miles of the motor are the same someone did the work to the motor and whether the motor was swapped or just the head or w/e the reason is you should try and find out from the pevious owner what happened exactly, and for the price hey man you cant beat it with a stick
