    Default Walbro 255

So I've got one on my srt4 I just got.

I haven't taken the car to a shop and had it checked out or anything, this is JUST what the previous owner told me.

He told me once we traded that he FORGOT I mention how I shpuldn let my gas level get below a 1/8 tank because of the walbro, he said the car starts to sputter. I'm not testing him, I fill up at a 1/4 tank.

HOW WOULD I GO ABOUT RESOLVING THIS PROBLEM?

    Sorry for the long story.

    And thankyou in advance!

If I installed it, it wouldn't even work at all. Don't be giving me that much credit.

I guess wherever I can get my shit times they can check it out. And emmino

I have no clue what a commander is so I guess y'all can't tune it

to be honest, you shouldn't let it get that low because you will also start to suck up trash and clog the injectors and such. also, being submerged in the fuel is how the pump stays cool.

Shouldn't let it be how low?

There isn't a way to fix this problem so that I can actually run a full tank of gas?

In the first post you stated that the owner warned you not to let the fuel get below 1/8 of a tank I.E. damn near empty. That was what I was referring to.

I let my car go well pass the 1/8 mark all the time with no issues. As the others have said, it could be just an improperly installed pump or the fuel canister wasn't aligned properly so the gauge is off. The latter is a very common noob mistake. There is an arrow on the outside of the fuel canister (it may be hidden by the mounting ring). This arrow needs to point straight up to the sky, perpendicular to the ground.

The only issue with the Neon/SRT-4 model Walbro 255 I know of is a pressed metal piece on the pump falling out. I've encountered the pin issue twice already in the last three years.

    Damn!^^^

    Thanks for the warning.

What are some of the symtoms(sp) when the pin comes out?

And to fix do I just reinstall the pin or do I need a new one. If it falls out I'll prolly never find it with my luck

Read that thread I posted to learn more about it. In most cases, you can hear the fuel pump priming but no fuel makes it to the injectors. From what some people have said, you can push the pin back on. In both my cases, I ditched the failed ones since I didn't feel comfortable using them anymore. When the metal piece falls out, it'll be contained inside the fuel canister. It will rattle around when you handle the fuel canister.

I haven't heard of anyone doing that. The pin will be contained inside the fuel canister if you want to reuse it.

Ya I read that. I'm guessing the cannister is in the back bottom of the car by the tank.
