90 Accord Swaps???

Just picked up a 90 accord. F22 with 9 pounds of boost. Its cool, something different for sure. Though, I'm looking to get some more out of this car. Is an h22 a possible swap in this car?

If so, what am I getting into. I'm more than certain that I can use some stock mounts, among other things. Anybody have more details? Thanks.

I assumed as much. Now, I want to go boost. How would I go about doing an OBD conversion if necessary? Also, what ECU should I use. I'd assume being vtec i'd say a P28. Or is that only in a B series?

Really i'm looking for the most inexpensive way to go here. Boost is NOT a must. The F22 is smoking some, so I want to do away with it asap.

That being said, would an H23 be a better swap? Doing that, can I just plug and play an ECU, if so which ECU do I need?

Being as they're both non v-tec motors I would assume the 23 would be a simpler swap.

f22 is low compression, h22 is high compression because of vtec. i'll stay with f22. you get more power out of a low compression engine without any major mods. im sure a rebuild kit for f22 isnt much

Didn't know this was possible. This is my first time venturing away from a B series so I'm somewhat lost.

What all does that involve? If I can find a low mileage head I'll just rebuild the bottom and take that route.

Id stay with the f22 bottom end, throw some h22 bottom end internals in it and throw on an h22 head and boost it. Then you got boost and vtec, the best of both worlds. The h series sleeves dont hold up well to boost and you can make just as much power with the f22 block with h22 internals as the h22 block.

I say build the F22, buy the time you buy the head and the h22 internals you could've built the motor and kept your boost. Just tune it and turn the boost until its "ALL THE WAY TURNED UP!!!!!"

id ask james about it guy that works at mainstream, hes gotta a turboed f23 i imagine he could give you a few ideas maybe.

stock h22s are not good for boost, stock f22 handles boost better than stock h22
if, if i were you i would just upgrade the bottom of the f22

if you going to get an h22 dont boost it unless you build the block, me personally, i would not do the f/h hybrid, cause if not done right it's going to blow fast

if you get the h22 u can use a chipped p28 with an h22 basemap
