head gasket leak please help

well finally after a long time of sitting i finished my gsr swap, we checked and checked and checked every single screw, hose , and wire on it and nothing is loose the head is torqued to factory specs every thing is perfect and i turned it on and i didnt have any coolant so i let it run for not even a minute and it started leaking oil under the dizzy and i mean it was just flowing. we checked all the seal around there and everything is fine. i have come to the conclusion that the head gasket is leakin oil and it is really bad it has dial pins but still leaks i dont know what is wrong with it i need some help please....



i also heard that if i take a triple layer gasket apart and use the middle one as a single layer its gonna be ok, is that true????

The head could have warped, did you have it checked/decked?

its also really hard to find leaks with new oil in it, try buying the additive that colors the oil, i cant remember the name of it, but it should help you out. most likely its the cam seal/dizzy on that side of the head.

copper seal? and i havent used the single layer gasket yet since it was leaking and then i took it off. its not warped either it was at a machine shop for a while b4 i put it together,
honestly im a good mechanic but this really is workin my nerves im stuck

you can get it from auto zone, its in a copper colored can next to the rtv sealant stuff. use that same headgasket if it only has a few miles on it. spray it on after you clean it and heat up the gasket itself with a heater or whatever

shoulda used copper seal

never used copper seal before for a head gasket and i have never had any problems as long as the head is not warped.

just for kicks and grins, just the valve cover gasket just to be sure before you jump to the headgasket. cam seal even though you said its under the dizzy, and re-check the dizzy seal. (just like greasmunkey said)

or if you want, just take the head back off and have it checked. lol. usually start with the easiest stuff first.

seems like you got the headgasket on upside down. upside down head gasket will pour about 2 quarts of oil out on the dizzy side of the motor in about 2 two seconds. take the head off and post pics of the gasket.

as far as tearing apart an oem gasket and use the middle peice is flat out stupid. i would not suggest that at all. its 3 layer for a reason. also i though that will raise comp..

they say its easy to get them upside down but if you have half a brain you wont have a problem, do you see a tab on the left side next to the header? should be a small tab sticking out.

man any one can get mixed up and put it on backwards lol i didnt even check for the headgasket being backwards today im going to mess around with it and fix it and ill tell yall what the problem is

my friend did that last year and her car still runs good but im jus gonna buy a 1 layer im not sure about me taking apart a brand new head gasket

JUST PUT MY MOTOR BACK TOGETHER AND IT RUNS PERFECT NO SKIPS,LEAKS,OR SPUTTERS AND ONE LAYER GASKET FTW IT PULLS HARDER THAN IT EVER DID LOL

i used the one from auto zone and jus carefully took the rivets off and used the middle layer my dad said it will be good like that and it is, it pulls harder than it ever did

So you really took apart the multi-layer gasket and used only the middle layer?
