Just go to the tag office and say you want to register the car. If they say okay here's your tag you're straight. If they say your car doesn't have current emissions then you leave and figure out what to do.
i got the same question. i just got ek but the Previous owner said he just did emission in 11-20-09 and he gave me the paper is it still good?

Yeah, it's still good. He forgot to give me the paper, and he's a few hours away, he said he did it in september, and the car has a tag from him and everything so I should be good, i'm calling the tag office in the morning.
From the past 3 cars I registered, I didn't need the emmisions, they were all in the computer...
You don't need the paper, it will always be in the computer.
I'm trying to see if there is a site I can see it on. I'm busy as fuck, so I don't have time to call in the day...
