    Default New racing beat headers!

So while I was taking off my stock headers, I ran into a problem. A stud broke in my manifold. I've already bought a new stud but I was wondering if driving with this exhaust leak for a couple days would warp my new headers? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Meaning you wouldn't drive it with the stud like it is or you wouldn't put the headers on?

A stud broke in your manifold? they dont break inside the manifold. the break inside the rotor housing. how did it break? did it break and half the stud is in the housing or did all of it break inside the housing and now is flush?

get the old stud extracted, and put a new stud in there.

I'm assuming the stud is still in the hole it was in just broken now.

I would not drive the car in its current condition.

So I tried getting the old stud out of the housing but it broke again! It just doesn't want to come out. I know a guy with a tap set. Hopefully we'll be able to get it out that way.

I really have no choice but to drive the car. I have to go to work and I cant get a ride cause no one i know gets up at 4 in the morning.

keep breaking it. it will eventually come out in pieces, then go at it with a tap and die set to clean up the threads and carefully thread a new stud in there.

why would you do something like this on a car without being 100% careful? the studs arent that easy to break. and now you have no way of getting to work.

how much stud is in there.

Those studs in the rotor housing are a PAIN! good luck getting it out... I ended up just rebuilding my motor and replacing the rotor housing that had the broken stud...

As for driving the car, there isnt really any down side to driving with a broken stud and your new racing beat header has a really heavy duty thick flange on it that shouldn't warp...

As for everyone elses opinion on driving the car in its current condition... Why shouldn't he? Please don't say he could bend a valve or something... hahaha

It won't hurt anything, just an annoying ass noise from the leak. I drove mine around for a month or so in my camaro.

Sorry guys, didn't log on whole weekend. Got the brakes done. Changed 3 calipers, installed some SS lines on the front & Hawk HPS pads all the way around.
