    Default Honda question

    So I just stoped a z6 in my 93 civic. ( nothin special just stock) but when I reverse i hear a loud winding noise comin from what sounds like the trans anyone know what that is... ?

    syncros in the tranny , i may be wrong ( not ase)

    LOL, is it grinding?

    It's probably the normal noise when you put a honda into reverse..

    Reverse does that in all 5 speeds but it can be louder than usual if the syncros or gears are worn. If you really that worried change the fluid with some Honda MTF. Check the old fluid for particles or chips of metal.

    honda's reverse is loud because it is straight cut. Like a dog box trans it makes the whine.
