    Default It's cold as balls!!!

When I cut the heat on in my car, it's not hot... AT ALL! Even when the car warms up, the air barley becomes warm... . It blows, and it sometimes gets hot, but more often then not, it only hits luke-warm. What could be the problem?

theres probably a clog in the heat core. little antifreeze goes into the heater radiator. there for you get little heat. try back washing the heater radiator.

...check the thermostat? really? he said the car warms up.

The issue is one of three things:

    1) your heater core is blocked/clogged
    2) the heater core bypass valve is not operating correctly
    3) the heater core hoses are incorrectly attached or not attached at all.

Inspect those items and i promise you'll find the issue. If the hoses are not there at all, or are looped back around into the engine - use caution when connecting them and starting the engine up. They may have been done like that for a reason. (leaky heater core - too lazy to fix - lets loop the hoses)

Thanks for the replies! I was told it could possibly be a sticky thermostat, but I wanted to get some other opinions. I've never really messed with my heater core, so i'm not too familiar with how it works and whatnot... . eh, i'll figure it out.

the heater core bypass valve is not operating correctly

    -jonathan
Check this valve to make sure it is opening all the way. You can just reach down there with your hand and open it or have someone move the lever from hot to cold on the dash and see if the valve opens and closes.

If you car is reaching normal operating temps and stays there then your thermostat is fine.

coming back to read this.... one answer.. WOW!
ok 1, if thermostat is stuck it'll either run very hot or close to cold.
ok 2, if there isnt a thermostat than the coolant will stay very close to cold.
there is only 1 reason its not getting heat into the car!
