Default brand new rebuilt B18, has trouble starting

i just got this engine built and in the car, but whenever its cold, it has a hard time starting on its own. It takes a few times, and also some extra throttling in order to get it to start. Once its started though, it idles beautifully on its own.

The only reason i could think of this problem occurring is due to the piston rings not having settled in nicely against the cylinder walls yet... or the fact that its running un-tuned at the moment. What y'all think??

nah, its not the battery... car sits in a nicely temperature controlled garage, and its brand new. TUNE, absolutely is ASAP.

probably the cold start enrichment tables need tweeking. on yours it will need to be tuned first before tweaking the tables because you need to get the map maps tuned first and then tweak the tables after. problem is at that point the car is totally warm and iat is warm as well. usually the default settings are ok, but every car is different so sometimes they have to be tweaked on another day when the car can be left to get completely cold again...overnight is always best.

anyone that has recently had a tune by me and needs a tweak feel free to give me a call.
