Shane, just let the car idle with the radiator cap off. If you have air in the system you will see bubbles coming up to the top. As the coolant level goes down just add more. And if your fan does not kick in that is also a problem. You can always jump the fan to where it stays on and see if that does anything.

Did you let it idle all the air bubbles out? If so, then you're straight on that. As far as the fan goes, if it keeps over heating, unplug the wire from right where the thermostat is and loop it with a short piece of wire. This will keep your fan running constantly. If that fixes the problem than you know you need to get the fan running properly.

no and i let the car run for like 15mins and the fan never came on
