vtec will not work without an 02, on a stock ecu that is.

i dont know how your running a 1 wire, but you should grab a 4 wire and wire it up. its a measly 3 wires

O2 sensor has nothing to do with vtec

I have ran without O2 sensors all the time with Vtec working just fine

it will throw code for o2 heater and poss o2. it may or may not engage vtec. get the correct o2 or have it disabled via chipped ecu.

Ok the car is a cx but has a vx block with y8 head and a virgin p28, thats why it has a 1 wire. I have a 4 wire to install, i just wanna know if thats one of the reasons it's running rich/sputtering alil and when vtec engages it boggs. I need pins for the ecu to run the O2wires i have the wrong ones I think. thanks for all the info guys greatly appreciated!!

it will run rich and like shit with no o2 and with only that 1 wire i doubt it will even read its there. I am having this issue right now with no 4 wire o2 and mine runs shitty and rich.
Just do a 4 wire o2 its the best bet

I have worked on many car makers with O2 sensor codes, CEL and never had one cause it to run bad. Maybe if the tune up was shitty I could see that issue.

But never a O2 sensor making it run like shitt. But yes making it use gas Oh yeah

Ford sales a MIL that hooks between the O2 plug and cars factory plug that tricks the ecu.. But not Honda...You will have to buy and chip it to delete it

I'll just wire in the 4 wire and be done with it, if it still sputters i'll look into bent valves or low comp in the cylinders. thanks
