    Default Car Crisis: Should I get a RSX-S or a E36 M3

Okay IA I need some advice. I'm about to go to college in Tennessee next year and I need a new reliable ride because I just sold mine 2 days ago. So I was thinking about getting a RSX-S or a E36 M3. I'm Thinking that he RSX would be a better bet because parts are cheaper, they get better MPGs (permitting you dont kick in into VTEC), and they are solid cars. However the M3 is a solid car as well, they still get good gas milage (permitting you dont kick it into VANOS), and they are just as much to buy as the oldest RSX-S that you can find. So can you guys please tell me what I'd be better off with? Thanks!!!

Old car vs new car. Of course the new car for reliability.

I would hands down pick the m3 personally, but if you go for one make sure the required maintenance has all been performed. They will be very reliable, but the parts are more expensive and you probably don't want to buy into dealing with that.

I am looking at E36 and E46 M3's, most are loaded with miles or they are out of my price range. Really you are comparing 2 way different cars. If I were in school out of state and strapped for money I'd get the RSX-S and not worry about a thing. The BMW will be more expensive on repairs and stuff.

I love the m3, but Im going to have 2 say go with the RSX b/c they are just less hassles, and repairs are expensive on the M3. So unless mom & pops are rich or you can work on cars yourself, the RSX will a better choice in the long run. Last thing you need during school is to stress out because your car broke down, and the repair bill is more than you can afford.

RSX because you're going to college out of state where you probably won't have a garage to work on a E36.
