    Default Motor mount problem

B20 in a 97 hatch. The drivers side mount bracket that comes up off the block comes up too high. The bolt on the actual mount doesn't go through the hole in the bracket at all, it just sits right under it. I used the bracket from a b16. Which mount/bracket am I supposed to have?

This isn't my picture... but it might help explain.

The bracket in side one when connected to the block with the block sitting correctly in the car is above the mount in side 2. about an inch too high. So I'm thinking the bracket in side one is wrong. Which ne do I need for it to work correctly?

you MIGHT have to us an SI "timing belt" bracket/mount?

Cause I remembered when I did my GSR swap into my EJ chassis, I had to use SI tranny bracket and SI "timing belt" mount

I'm not too familiar wit b20's, but I would assume its the same as a b18c

Edit: nvm. You are using a b16 mount...

These mounts all worked perfect with my 99 b16. When I first put the motor in I didn't have the A/C bracket mount on and the motor was sitting diagonal downwards towards the drivers side. When I put it on it lifted the drivers side mount bracket off the mount. All the other mounts are bolted down and the motor looks perect where it is. And my axles line up perfectly.

NO. You don't understand. With it off the motor sits leaning to a 45 degree angle towards the ground.

then you have a wrong mount somewhere. its either going to be the wrong driver side mount or wrong tranny mount... it cant be much else to be truthful.

take the t bracket off. and try to use just the upper tranny and drivers mount, if it sits flat then you found your problem.

it if it doesnt then you obviously found the other problem. ya dig?

and post a picture of said problem nexttime... it speeds things up

Explain to me how these mounts worked for a b16 but not a b20. That's what I really need to know.

All I know is the mounts worked with my b16. Because I drove it everyday. And looking at the way the mounts work with the b20 it is obvious to me that it will not work.

If you are using all 99-00 mounts then there should be no problems...
Are you using the Si engine mount (the one that sits inside the TB cover) and the one on the car side?
