rain/puddles makes car bog

i have a strange problem. everytime it rains, or i drive through a puddle the car bogs down for a few minutes. then, the car will sound like it has some sort of exhaust leak.

initially i was thinking there's water getting into the intake somehow, but wouldn't a hole that big make the car idle pretty shitty? the main intake tube is right next to the headlight...that's a bit too high for a puddle...i think.

now i'm thinking it's possibly the exhaust taking in water. if that's the case though, a leak that size would be loud enough for me to hear.

any suggestions???

u have a vac leak of some kind some place. i had this issue on a bmw a few weeks ago. dry weather car ran like a champ. raining it would barely run.
