Default I have to pop the clutch to start my car

ok so i bought a brand new starter and it still doesnt want to turn over, i pop the clutch and it runs. When i try to crank it, no clicks, all lights come on.

could it be a bad brand new starter? clutch switch?

    reps for help asap

Doesnt sound like any of those, check your grounds, and wiring at the starter.

Keep on starting it the way you are.... and you will fuck up the alternator.

Roll starting your car will not harm your alternator. Check your power wires at the starter, the biggest wire will always have 12v+ from the battery. The smaller wire goes to your starter solenoid and will have 12v+ when your key is in the start position. Start by checking power at both of these wires and ensuring your engine block grounds are good.

Sounds like the button on the clutch pedal is broken/gone. Put a nut and bolt in its place. If not...clutch switch.

Mine did the same thing. Ended up being the wiring going to the starter.

Yeah both of my cars and my brothers car lately have done this. I guess the plastic has an expiration date lol.

But I'd check that, the main relay, and the ignition switch.
