    alright i have this 5sp dseries hydro tranny, and i need to split it open but i have no idea how to remove this clip..
    plz help

    ringclip pliers, it spreads it apart as you pull the housing off

    Most of the time, if you spread it open and wiggle the box, the stack will drop enough to keep it open. Then you can use both your hands to focus on getting the case off.

    dont forget the ball locks

    good luck getting the clip back in place..... it can be frustrating
