Of the people I regularly socialize with, the one redtop owner has had problem after problem after problem with his motor.
Could just be a bad egg, but I guess it left a lasting mark on my opinion of them.
But that's my opinion, and I'm sure there's others out there with different feelings.

so you based an opinion of an engine that thousands of people in the US now have on a single one your buddy had problems with? i've seen quite a few failures as well. a few were due to getting mechanically poor engines, but most due to a poor job being done on the swap itself causing all types of issues down the road.Originally Posted by AFSil80
Thinking back on the issues he had, I would have to say it was a bad motor, spun bearings, when he upgraded the turbo, the shaft in the stocker had a bit of play. But yeah, I did make an assumption based on one example, which is something I normally don't do.
