    Default e30 springs?

just picked up an e30 with some cut springs. looking to go to some aftermarket lowering springs. most lower the car about and inch and a half. i came across these:

    http://www.andysautosport.com/bmw/19...s00166293.html

they spec it lowers it 2.4 inches. anybody have any input on these?
any better options? i'd like as much drop as possible w/o it ridin like garbage. thanks!!

Never used them, mine came with cut too I am about to get H&R race springs.

I'll sell you my cuts for $20, perfect stance, no weird riding, not bumpy, and slammed! lol

If you lower your car a lot you will be riding on the bump stops. I'd recommend buying shorters shocks too.

All BMW's usually look lower in the rear.

Not sure of the price on H&R, I am going with the race springs. Although I seriously have considered keeping these cut springs and going with some nice shocks. They really aren't bad.

If you have been riding on cut springs for a while your shocks are gone. you will need to invest in some new shocks. if you do not want a bumpy ride.

p.s the reason cut springs ruin shocks quick because since they tend to bounce they over work the shocks and cause them to go bad.

you'll probably want to roll some fenders, probably trim the inner fender if there is a stock one on those?...the stock suspension on the e30's has no adjustment for camber up front either, you can get back to spec camber tolerance with some offset front LCA bushings...got a set if you want

the barvarians are good springs...probably just as stiff but not as low as the H&R's

I've got the H+R sport springs on mine. Rides nice but I want something a bit firmer since it sees a good bit of track time. I will tell you that if you lower it much over .5" in the rear you're going to need to take the subframe off and weld the adapters on to allow you to adjust the rear camber or it will be way off, so will your toe and there is no adjustment on the rear at all. The front camber is non adjustable unless you get camber plates, the offset CAB's will allow you to get more caster but won't get your camber right. I have the M3 offset urethane CABs and the M3 uppers and net about 2.3 degrees camber and about 6.8 degrees caster. The Konis aren't shorter in the front because they're just cartridges. Here's a pic of how mine sits on a set of 17"s. The ride height measured from the pinch rail is actually .25" higher in the rear but the E30's wheel wells are lower in the rear so the car will always look lower in the rear than it is. Unless you run some fairly low offset rims you won't need to roll the fenders.

well i'm running a set of 15in rota c8's... IF i change wheels i'll just go with some lower offset 15s... the way my springs r cut now i'm sure i'm lower than a half inch under stock and the camber is pretty spot on... is there something i'm missing?

Hey man I've got bavarian autosport springs on mine. They ride great on the street. Not as stiff as the others I'm sure. Heres a pic of my ride height...

This was before I took out the spring pads in the rear. So it sits a little lower out back now.

Yeah, some people say it squeaks a little more. mine does it from time to time. But it doesn't really bother me. I've heard that the spring can slip off the perch, but I've only heard of that happening once.

yeah thats my main concern... although a friend of mine that bought Thighs e30 welded a thin piece of sheet metal to keep it centered and from slippin off the perch

Depending on the spring rubber you have its only going to lower it another 5mm if you take them out. Unless your shock is messed up its a limiter so I don't see the spring being able to come out even with the rubbers off. Personally I'd leave them in.
