dogboxes are pretty hardcore race shit. unless you're pushing over 5-600whp, i wouldnt do it for a street car.

The PPG gearset gets rid of 5th gear. So your gas mileage and daily drivability go to the shitter.
I mean yes it is totally possible to daily them but Im sure you will quickly get tired of them.

let's be honest here...are you really considering spending that kinda cheese and worrying about it being streetable? when someone spends $6k on a transmission alone they usually have spent a considerable chunk of change on the rest of the setup, and risking driving around a honda with 20k in parts on the street is just stupid

but to answer your question, yes they are completely streetable, though the whine would make your ears bleed within a few miles

^for real...no insurance company in the world would ever give you what you have in it, so why risk it?

but hey, we have done dog box/strain gauge stuff before so if you purchase it we can install it in the trans for ya, lol

here's a ppg set we just finished up on a h-trans...

PPG Dogbox gear set - Transmission built inhouse - Dark colored gears are the original heat treated gears

The ring gears side by side:

The Mainshafts with the handcuff side by side:

PPG will be coming out with a B-series syncro box soon if you are too concerned with it being streetable and hold up to the power.

But for the record, that same gear set in an Integra (Palo) and civic (Miller) both with 8s.

very interesting stuff...to say the least. Info is always good. I am always open to hardcore components if the streetablility is there...up to a point. On my MKIV i had a RPS Carbon Carbon twin disc. This is no cheap clutch at a whooping price of $3k new.

Funny thing is the Tilton @ $5.6K is the super bad boy to get for ultimate streetability. So say many member reviews. But my power goals didn't dictate such a upgrade necc. hence my custom made spec'd out clutch from south bend.
Getting back on topic, after researching the item for months and deciding on my power goals i picked one up used on the market. Many guys praised it's streetability. I ended up getting rid of it, just wasn't what i was looking for.

Thanks for info....always looking to see what is out there....
