    Default Help with spacers

if i were to put 12.7mm / 1/2 inch spacers with bigger bolts yall think im running a big risk doing so. its the only way to get the wheels i just got to not rub against the upgraded calipers.

you mean longer wheel studs? it really depends on how much longer the new wheel studs are. you need 5-7 full rotation of the lug nuts to be safe.

I ran into this prob a week ago with my spacers =[

It's fine as long as you use quality studs, i'd recommend ARP. What car is this on?

The only thing your running a risk on is your wheel bearings. Same as running a low offset. If it were me, your not going to gain much as far as handling goes, and I'm sure you paid a pretty penny for the brakes.

If, however, it were me. I'd try and shave it off first to make the room.

When you move your wheels out, you increase the leverage on wheel bearings. When you've got 3K pounds sitting on them, that leverage is considerably increased.

12mm isn't too bad, i'd be more concerned with running 0 offset wheels on cars that should normally have a 37+mm offset.

Touche' but either way. The more leverage you add to the spindles. The more stress its going to put on them!

Definitely puts more stress on it either way. It was really bad when people were flipping the wheels around and running then so the inside of the tire was practically flush with the fender lol!
