It really all depends on what you want. Tray is right, you need to go and drive both cars extensively before choosing. The EVO drives, rides and handles like a race car. The STi is more civilized for daily driving, but you lose a bit of that rawness that the evo has. The interior is nicer than the evo's, too. With both cars road noise is insane, hehe. But the evo has quicker steering and a ton of driver feedback, which is nice.
Just comes down to which one suits you better, man. Go drive 'em. 
Tray got his in a dealer in CT for just about 30k even.
