    Default brake lights don't work

i checked the fuses.etc. everything seems good, my brake lights do work when i press on the brakes, it's just at night when i turn on my lights, my brake lights won't come on, they only come on when i press on the brakes even when i turn on my lights. any suggestions? the car is a s13.

lets see first off the bulbs were blown, and then i replaced that it still didn't work, so i checked the fuse, it was blown so i replaced it but it still didn't work so i was like wtf. then i checked the ground because the wiring system was all messed up in the brake system so i had to redo everything, and got a good ground and it was working good.

You might have a short in the headlight switch, that shorts when the parking light section of the headlight swtich is turned and it might be killing the brake lights somehow.
