gunk on the molding? maybe some soapy water and a scrubbing pad.

Headlights, try some cleaner wax, or go buy some Meguir's Plastix(assuming you have plastic/Lexan headlight lenses). Wax on, wax off and you have crystal clear headlights.

If it's textured plastic molding (you can feel the texture if you run your fingers across it), the best stuff I've used is called GR40. It might take a couple applications but it does remove wax and polish from plastic molding. Check it out here: http://www.topoftheline.com/trim-cleaner.html

If it's painted molding (like flat black or semigloss black), you can try a wax and grease remover. 3M sells a very good product you can get at WalMart or most auto parts stores.

As for the headlights, as mentioned already, a plastic polish like Meguiars PlastX will do the job but it might take several applications and a lot of rubbing. It's a good product, just takes some elbow grease.

The best stuff is called "Desolve-It"

Sold at Wal-mart only like $4. i use it daily when removing 10 year old decals that have built up a gunk and tarr on body and paint. it is safe for the body and not harmful to anything. it is a grease base material. best thing to do is spray it - let it settle on the "gunk" for a couple of minutes then take a flat surfaced. clean edged hand tool (ID card or something) and scrap at the "gunk" it will come off so easily. then just wipe down the area and spray the area with windex or alcohol and is a nice clean surface with no gunk or harm to your body/paint/windshield.
