theres a fridge freshener that you can spray through your outside vents, it clears it right up and smells cool! 8D you would need to run your ac on high and spray the stuff onto your outside vents. Which is covered by your hood when you see it .. hope it helps any, and i'm not quite sure what brand and name the bottle was but i got it from Goodyear!

what u are smelling is mold. its living in your evap. if it spread past there u can try to put the heat on full blast for awhile. it will kill the smell but the mold will still be there.

    someone pee'd in your vent.

also, frigi-fresh is a possibility, i'd also check into lysol the heater box, exterior and interior vents.

could also be a mouse nesting in there (the relieve themselves where they sleep and eat). it happens a lot when it gets colder outside and/or if your car is outside most of the time...especially at night and for extended periods of time.

spray into the vents, put the a/c on hi fresh air, spray the outside air intake at base of windshield, and don't be afraid to use too much. then put the ac on hi rec and spray @ the inside air intakes (usually floorboard areas). the lysol will kill mold/mildew, and any viruses the mice transmit/carry.

dryer-sheets under the seats and near the inside air intakes will keep the car smelling fresh.

correct sir, also might want to remove your wipers and pull the windshield trim off to clean out that area. I bet you have stacks and stacks of leaves built up, which, when composting emit all kinds of cool smells. While you've got that open, hose down the climate control fan while it's running (you'll see it) with some lysol - it'll kill the mold in throughout the system as it circulates.

IF you drop the fan motor you should be able to clean off the intake side of your evaporator while its out without having to break open the a/c.
